Virtual Instructor – Early Childhood

The Virtual Learning Instructor is responsible for delivering academic and/or enrichment programs for preschool children ages four (4) to six (6) via live small group virtual sessions. The Virtual Learning Instructor promotes academic achievement by providing individualized instruction through the facilitation of lessons aligned with preschool curriculum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain complete and thorough attendance of all students for each virtual session. Submit attendance rosters, schedule changes and other reports as requested.
- Ensure the safety of all children enrolled in the program by following the Code of Conduct, Child Abuse Prevention Policy, and Safety and Security Guidelines for live Virtual Programs.
- Ensure that youth participants are registered and the authorized parent/guardian is present for the beginning and end of each virtual session.
- Plan and implement curriculum.
- Use positive group management techniques. Anticipate and deal with behavior problems in accordance with YMCA’s policy.
- Receive ongoing and consistent observation and feedback, and participate in coaching sessions with supervisor.
- Promote program enrollment and repurchasing of sessions.
- Connect with student families weekly by phone or email.
- Check and respond to emails daily and regularly consult with your supervisor.
- Navigate software and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Work remotely and have a proactive approach to work in order to complete deliverables on time and maintain proper work-life balance.
- Report incidents to supervisor and complete incident reports as needed.
- Maintain an organized environment that represents YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Attend all YMCA training and meetings as required.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested and necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, college credits/Associate’s degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate computer skills and comfortable with operating differing software platforms.
- Prior experience coaching, tutoring, mentoring students, a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, detail-oriented, and planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels including staff, parents and youth.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions that adhere to the purpose, mission and goals of the YMCA.
- Ability to work with integrity, discretion and a professional approach.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions.
