POSITION SUMMARY

Are you interested in working in a fast paced, ever changing environment with long standing impacts on Connecticut’s youth? Then you should join our Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy team. Clinicians provide evidence-based intensive in home clinical treatment to adolescents with substance abuse and delinquent behaviors and their families. Clinicians get an opportunity to collaborate with schools, DCF workers, probation officers and other formal/informal supports in order to provide the best wraparound services and positive outcomes! Clinicians are expected to complete model certification and have a strong desire to work with children/adolescents and their families. Managers provide licensure supervision and opportunities for professional growth.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related license eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required. May graduates are encouraged to apply.

Must hold one of the following credentials to begin employment: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM). Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant.

　

Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.

　

Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for indentified service needs in a timely manner.

　

Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings.

　

Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols.

　

Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy.

　

Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.

　

Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program. May transport clients to appointments or linkages as appropriate.

　

Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
