Tailor - CIIP

VSE Corporation is currently seeking the skill-set of a TAILOR for the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), Ft Benning, GA with at least 4 years of experience.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Alter articles according to alteration ticket and in accordance with Army Regulations for proper fit

  • measures, fits and marks garments for minor alterations such as hemming or adjusting waistlines and sleeve lengths using fitter’s pins and chalk marks

  • Shortening or lengthening sleeves, legs, and hems, raising or lowering collars, and expanding or narrowing waist and chest of unlined garments without changing the basic shape.

  • Must be able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

• Operator may operate automatic sewing machines with the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls. Utilizing knowledge of threading machines along with winding bobbins and adjusting tension

• Must be able to follow verbal instructions and locate defects

• Repairs article, including ripping of seams and matching sizes and colors of replacement parts

• Oiling parts

• Must be able to lift 35 lbs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School diploma with at least four years’ experience.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued ID (AIE or CAC)

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a drivers license if required

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screen
