The Transporter supports the process flow of the radiology department by rapidly transporting ED patients to the appropriate imaging modality at the CIS Huntersville Healthplex. They also provide excellent clinical support to the X-ray department by prepping the patient before the exam and assisting the technologist with cassette processing. They assist technologists with non-clinical tasks such as completing paperwork, burning CDs with patient's exams, and answering the phone. This is all done while offering the best quality patient care available.
Safely and promptly transport Emergency Department patients to the appropriate imaging modality for their imaging study.
Assist X-ray Technologists with patient exams by prepping the patient for their exam.
Assist clinical staff in CIS by facilitating report turnaround, tracking ED exams to make sure they are read in a timely manner, calling STAT reports to referring providers, etc.
Complete nonclinical tasks such as burning CDs, answering phone calls, and completing paperwork
Communicate with ED concerning patient availability.
Familiarity with radiology exams
Proper patient prep depending on specific exam
Routinely pushing patient stretchers
Walking/standing for extended periods of time
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6p.m.
