Program Manager (Housing) - Fort Myers, FL
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Program Manager/Social Services Housing for the Fort Myers Area Command, located in Fort Myers, Florida.
Job Summary
Supervises, coordinates, and monitors day-to-day operations of the Rapid Rehousing program. Supervises casework performed by program staff ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures; prepares statistical reports; ensures that client’s needs are met through service coordination, staffing, and referrals for individuals and group work; oversees public relations and volunteer services affecting housing program services efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of resources and outside agencies to provide services for child/elderly abuse and/or neglect.
Knowledge of practices and principles of social service program administration.
Knowledge of resources and outside agencies that provide mental health and substance abuse services.
Knowledge of the principals and practices of bookkeeping and budget administration.
Knowledge of HIPAA standards and laws.
Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of staff performing same or similar work.
Ability to develop, implement and enforce program policies and procedures.
Ability to interview clients in order to evaluate and serve their needs.
Ability to determine client eligibility for program assistance based on specific program guidelines and restrictions.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the public and community agencies.
Ability to prepare accurate and complete client records, reports, and statistics.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a related field, and four years progressively responsible experience performing social services work with at least one year in a supervisory capacity or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid state driver’s license
Approved Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report required.
Approved background check report required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to travel short distances, such as for meetings and other Salvation Army facilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
