Summary:

The Shipper position works collaboratively within the department under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor to prepare materials for transport in and out of the plant location. The Shipper will follow established procedures to ensure safety, compliance and other efficiencies to support the functions of shipping and receiving; purchase order fulfillment; inventory control and other key related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Perform Safety inspections on all equipment in shipping.
  • take part in safety programs and initiatives
  • Inspect and identify problems with Hopper cars and Hopper trucks.
  • Understand and implement daily loading schedule.
  • Understand how to properly load vans for configuration and weight
  • Properly install load locks
  • Understand and complete van loading paperwork and check sheets
  • Load Hopper trucks to goal weights and weight distribution
  • Load hopper cars to goal weights
  • Identify bulk tank loading spouts correctly
  • Identify bulk tank strapping locations correctly
  • Strap and document bulk tanks accurately, reliably
  • Properly identify and off-weight bags (FIBC and 50#)
  • Properly stack bags in Lazy Susan (50# paper or poly) 850 TO 1700 A DAY
  • Operate forklift correctly and safely
  • Operate tractor correctly and safely
  • Drive yard truck (if valid CDL license holder)
  • Complete all job assignments from the supervisor.
  • Support the company’s mission, value, strategic goals, vision, and objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as required by Shipping Supervisor.
  • Perform ISO duties as required by department.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand safety manuals, policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to relay shipping instructions to team members
  • Desire for excellence with respect to efficiencies and results

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 0-1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 0-1 year of Forklift experience
  • Strong mechanical and operational aptitude in a manufacturing environment
  • CDL driver’s license
