TRC Business Line Leader

Position Summary:  The Business Line Leader (BLL) is responsible for ensuring the business line's products, services, and solutions align with current customer demand, and serve new customers/markets, based on regular market research. In addition, they monitor market trends and emerging market opportunities, as well as keep an eye on competitors in the marketplace to ensure brand/market positioning remains effective (i.e., stay ahead of the competition). This includes product/solution development and enhancements that create resonance with the marketplace.

They are also responsible for the delivery and deployment of their products and solutions while monitoring customer satisfaction feedback insights that will help ensure a satisfying customer experience.

The BLL will collaborate with each TRC Business Unit Leader along with the Business Unit sales and marketing teams to receive and analyze local market feedback which will inform the offer, its positioning, and the localized go to market strategy.

This is a senior management position with a substantial level of developed autonomy and overall accountability for their business line strategy and growth activity within TRC’s strategic and operational agendas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate annual updates of their 3-year strategic plan covering both Business Line strategy and Geography deployment strategies in cooperation with business unit leaders in order to clearly articulate identifiable growth strategies for TRC Group Companies.
  2. Responsibility to support and oversee the comprehensive deployment of their product/solutions, globally
  3. Analyze brand positioning and consumer insights, in tandem with Marketing
  4. Shape and communicate business line vision and mission
  5. Translate brand elements & value proposition into go-to-market strategies
  6. Collaborate with the BU marketing teams working on initiatives (web, collateral, social, etc.) to enhance growth, brand positioning, awareness, etc.
  7. Work to establish performance specifications, costing and pricing strategy, market applications and sales estimates
  8. Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities
  9. Oversee new and ongoing marketing and advertising activities
  10. Monitor product distribution and customer satisfaction
  11. Devise innovative growth strategies
  12. Gain alignment from the BL employees around the BL direction, decisions, and tactics
  13. Measures progress using widely accepted key performance indicators
  14. Identify, develop, and recommend business line expansion and strategic partnerships
  15. Contributes to the strategic planning and tactical execution of all TGC sales, marketing and public relations plans and initiatives.
  16. Works closely with and interfaces with TRC Regional Leaders as well as with sales & marketing teams within each TRC subsidiary company, globally
  17. Develops and implements business plans which will achieve the desired results within each of our chosen markets.
  18. Develops unique product offerings to serve customer’s needs and for the benefit of the overall growth strategy

 Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree, or MBA degree in business administration, sales management, marketing or a related discipline with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in global sales, marketing and business development with a demonstrated track record of business growth, M&A, strategy execution and P&L management.

Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, sales management, sales planning, sales forecasting, marketing, market development and market research.

Relationship Building

Strong, demonstrated ability to build relationships with Business Unit Leaders and BU Marketing & Sales Teams while communicating with a diverse range of individuals.

Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and strict adherence to TRC’s core values and guiding principles.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid passport and driver’s license.

Ability to travel unimpeded to all areas of the world not prohibited by law, as much as 35% of the time.

Language Skills

Ability to read, produce, analyze and interpret Balanced Scorecard data, 80/20 Pareto analysis, Ansoff Matrix data, business journals, understand technical procedures.

Ability to write timely reports and business correspondence.

Ability to effectively create and make presentations to global customers and prospects.

Multi-lingual fluency (writing and speaking) considered a plus for this position.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs and complex business models with many dynamic perspectives

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Understanding of database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
