DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, implement and support Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications, visualizations and reporting for operations and engineering to conduct and support process monitoring, analysis and improvement efforts.
  • Create, implement and support manufacturing execution system (MES) applications, visualizations and reporting for operations.
  • Create Operational Technology (OT) standards, to be approved by IT, Engineering and Operations.
  • Follow IT standards as defined by Corporate IT.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow Sugar Creek Packing Co. safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Experience: 5+ Years of manufacturing controls experience
Certification Requirements: Ignition 8 Core Certification, or equivalent experience with similar SCADA systems preferred.

ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Possess basic understanding of Industrial Controls.
  • Able to use computers and computer systems (SCADA, CAD) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data and process information.
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Know how to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Know how to conduct statistical analysis.
  • Able to analyze data to identify trends or relationships among variables and resolve operational problems.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with manufacturing-type office positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required.  Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing 20 lbs. or less may be required as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work is performed in a comfortable indoor, office-like facility.  Some work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Some departments are colder temperatures between 30° and 40° F. Safety wear is required in manufacturing areas, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment.  Traveling between plants will be required on a regular basis.
