Tank Truck Driver
Want a driving job that allows you to get out of your tuck and stretch your legs? Want a driving job that allows you to go home every day? Want to work in the oilfield? Keep reading.
What you will do.
As a Tank Truck Driver you will haul loads of fluid used in oilfield operations. You will primarily be hauling water to and from job sites. You may even just be moving water or other fluids, such as oil or mud, around on the same job site. You will have to fill and empty your tank truck. To do this, you’ll position your truck near the source which could be a tank, a well, or some other container or body of water. Once positioned, you’ll hook up hoses to your tuck’s pump that will either suck or push the fluid in or out of your tank.
What you need to know.
Driving a tank truck isn’t like pulling a box trailer. The fluid moves around in your tank and this makes handling a tank truck different. You’re not always going to be driving on highways. You’ll also be driving on county roads and even dirt roads just big enough for your truck, which can make for a rough a ride. You’re going to be getting in and out of your truck a lot to open and close gates and to hook up and unhook your hoses. Since you’ll be getting out of your truck on job sites, you’re probably going to get dirty because you’ll be outside in the elements. Also, at times, you’ll be driving your truck onto congested work sites with other companies and multiple operations going on, so you need to extra careful.
Why you want this job.
You’re not going to be stuck in the seat all day. You’re going to be able to get out several times a day and that adds variety to your day. You’re going to be on a schedule of set days so there will be no guessing at when you have to work and you’re going to go home every day. We are proud of our fleet, so most of our trucks are less than three years old, well maintained, and have automatic transmissions. And we’ll supply you with all the uniforms, tools, and equipment you need to get the job done.
