Shop Helper

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Sweeping Corp of America seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Helper. This is a career entry level job that will support mechanical technicians by retrieving parts for repair and other duties as assigned.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process and track parts that have been placed on order.

1. Prioritize multiple parts pick‐up and deliveries.

1. Ability to respond to emergency pick‐up and delivery.

1. Pays attention to details and observe safety precautions.

1. Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

1. Basic computer skills for placing orders.

1. Able to identify correct parts, based on part number and shelf location.

1. Assist with inventory control.

1. Provide assistance to technicians as necessary.
   Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

• Prior delivery/driving experience

• Mechanical aptitude and industry experience preferred

• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.

• May be exposed to solvents, chemicals and refuse.

• May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Moderate lifting - no greater than 40 lbs.; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping and grasping. No fine manipulation or fine manual dexterity required. Ability to stand for a full shift in addition to walking, climbing stairs and bending as required. Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. May be exposed to solvents, chemicals and refuse. May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks-CDL related operation, Valid Driver’s License required.
