JOB SUMMARY:
Manage Aquatic Operations, Train and Coach Team Members, Leads, and Supervisors, Enforce/Monitor Park Safety Rules and Procedures.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct report for all Lifeguards, Loaders, and seasonal Aquatics Leadership Team Members.
- Responsible for opening and closing procedures for the Aquatics department.
- Responsible for enforcing all park policies, rules and regulations.
- Resolve guest and team member complaints and issues.
- Responsible for administrative duties such as daily audits, VAT logs, scheduling, rescue reports, accident reports, time cards, labor laws, updates of operational logs, reports, and statistical record keeping.
- Maintain all aquatics equipment and properly inventory all supplies.
- Responsible for remaining rescue-ready at all times and performing or training professional rescuer duties as needed, remaining current in all skills, and remaining on-call as needed.
- General knowledge of water chemistry and water testing.
- Understand the emergency procedure to be followed in case of an incident.
- Inspect the attractions and report unsafe conditions and equipment to Aquatics Manager.
- Attend or facilitate weekly in-service training, and maintain 4 hours per month.
- Follow all state and federal employment practices and laws at all times.
- Develop, implement and monitor schedules for the Aquatics department.
- Inspires and motivates team members to work together and achieve success beyond expectations.
- Receive and maintain an Ellis & Associates ILTP Special Facilities Lifeguard certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum of one (1) year/season lifeguard experience.
- Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor.
- Be able to attend and complete Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor Training, Adult, Infant and Child CPR and Standard First Aid course.
- Be in good physical condition; be dependable, alert, enthusiastic, strongly motivated and dedicated.
- Physical mobility-- the ability to move in different work stations, hand and arm movement.
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
- Must have corrected 20/25 vision with near and far acuity.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to communicate and effectively work with others.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to cross train into other operation departments.
- This position requires standing, walking, crouching, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays through labor day.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying climates including exposure to direct sunlight.
