This mid-level management position provides leadership and direction for all functions of the Finance Department at the Dutch Wonderland complex, which includes the amusement park, campground, and hotel operations.  This position supports the organization’s financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations, overseeing policies/procedures/controls and reporting systems, and developing systems to collect, analyze, verify, and report operational information.  This position reports to the General Manager.



Job Functions:

* Perform routine financial analysis (trend, historical, ratio, comparative, etc.) for all business units

* Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to address accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards

* Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping team members, and direct their work activities

* Maintain accurate records of monetary exchanges, authorization forms, and transaction reconciliations
* Complete all financial duties relating to period end closing and end of year closing, such as reviewing Profit & Loss statements and discussing closing issues with department managers
* Coordinate the annual budgeting process, with a focus on preparing the Administration department budget, contributing to the development of the attendance and admissions budgets, and assisting to prepare summary and statistical reports for presentations
* Assist with the hiring and training of finance team members, and addressing employee relations issues
* Implement, conduct, and oversee internal audit procedures all departments
* Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, including attending Safety Committee meetings and adhering to company policies as well as local, state, and federal guidelines.
* Participate in the Manager on Duty rotation for the complex
* Other duties as assigned



Basic Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Must have reliable transportation to and from work
* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
* Bachelor’s degree or higher level of education, preferably in accounting, finance, business, or a related field

* Must understand the accounting process, including financial closes, accruals, deferrals, and the impact they have on P&L statements
* Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in accounting, preferably with a retail or service/hospitality background

* Minimum of one-three (1-3) years of supervisory and/or management experience
* Proficiency using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

* Ability to attend to detail, prioritize projects, and multi-task as necessary

Working Conditions:
* Physical requirements include the ability to sit, walk, speak, hear, lift up to 20 lbs., and use common office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and phones
* Must be able to work indoors in an office setting, as well as occasionally outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
* Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
