Summary:

This entry-level management position is responsible for the hiring, training, and coaching of team members in the Food & Beverage department. This position oversees the daily operation of the Food & Beverage department by coordinating department personnel, supervising food safety and quality standards, developing and implementing department operating procedures and maintaining facilities and equipment. This position reports to the Director of Revenue.


Job Functions:

* Coordinate hiring, training, scheduling and coaching activities for Food & Beverage team and oversee the Palace Entertainment University program

* Ensure that food outlets are run efficiently and service standards are implemented and maintained

* Oversee park food safety programs and training

* Ensure that food service equipment and facilities remain in good working order

* Maintain proper cleaning and sanitation of food units in accordance with the health code and other regulatory guidelines

* Investigate and resolve guest complaints related to food quality or service

* Coordinate regular food and beverage deliveries from various vendors and complete monthly inventories

* Carry out administrative functions related to payroll, inventory, training, scheduling, purchasing, budgeting, menu planning, and projects

* Perform food preparation or service tasks as required

* Develop menus and cost cards for all locations following company guidelines

* Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, including attending Safety Committee meetings
* Participate in the Manager on Duty rotation for the complex
* Other duties as assigned

 

 

Basic Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Must have reliable transportation to and from work
* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
* Minimum of two (2) years’ undergraduate studies, preferably with a culinary, hospitality, restaurant, or business background

* Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in restaurant or hospitality industries

* Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory and/or management experience
* Proficiency using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

* Critical thinking and analytical skills to process data and make next-step recommendations

* Ability to attend to detail, prioritize projects, and multi-task as necessary


Working Conditions:
* Physical requirements include the ability to sit, walk, speak, hear, lift up to 20 lbs., and use common office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and phones

* May require the use of various kitchen equipment as well as vehicles, including trucks, golf carts, and forklifts
* Must be able to work both indoors in an office setting, as well as in food service stands/kitchens and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
* Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
