Motivate is looking to hire an enthusiastic and dependable Station Technician to join the Station Operations team They will help maintain all station terminals, cassettes (or bicycle docking points), solar arrays and station components. Traveling around the system they will check stations based on a schedule or instruction from management and provide spot maintenance and technical assistance to ensure proper operation of bikeshare.

About the Role

  • Complete maintenance in a professional and timely manner.

  • Report for work as scheduled.

  • Respond to requests from your manager(s).

  • Assist in maintaining an OSHA compliant workplace.

  • Ensure that all necessary reporting is accurate, complete and timely.

  • Keep a positive relationship with all co-workers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Operate a motor vehicle alone throughout an urban environment. 

  • Ride a bicycle alone throughout an urban environment.

  • Respond to work tickets along a designated route.

  • Troubleshoot issues with on-street equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance.

  • Test functionality of station equipment.

  • Replace broken equipment and assist with removal of downed equipment. 

  • Respond to incidents resulting in damage to equipment; escalate to immediate managers as needed. 

About You

  • You have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

  • You are comfortable driving, stopping and working in busy outdoor urban environments.

  • You have a working knowledge of the cities geography/street layout.

  • Intermediate computer skills - Technical - Electronics and Mechanical aptitude.

  • You are proficient with Gmail, Smartphone, and Tablet operation.

  • You are dependable. You are rarely late and know how to follow an assigned schedule. 

  • You can easily follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.

  • You are able to work consistent 8- or 10-hour shifts as needed.

  • You are able to lift up to 60 pounds; stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time.

  • You have great customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • You are a team player and are excited to be part of a tight knit team.

Bonus Points

  • Love of biking / bikeshare

  • Experience driving professionally around the city

  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving issues quickly.

  • Experience with electronics, construction, machining, fabrication, or other similar trade

  • Previous delivery driving, bicycle, and/or logistics experience 

  • Experience with computer network wiring, solar array installation/ electrical wiring
