Assembly Technician

Motivate is looking for an Assembly Technician to play an essential role in the deployment of new stations and bikes in the New York market. You will be primarily responsible for loading and unloading station materials, assembling stations, and completing other tasks within the expansion team. As part of this position, you will receive basic training on station operations and may provide as needed support to the overall operation. The Assembly Tech will report to the Assembly and Deployment Operations Manager.

  • About the Role

    • Perform tasks related to the assembly and deployment of New York stations including loading and unloading materials from trucks, assembling station components, flagging streets to direct traffic, and other tasks as assigned

    • Assemble station components in a warehouse

    •  Move plates and other materials across work sites using a pallet jack

    •  Follow safe work practices and adhere to all workplace policies

    • Test station functionality, performing basic diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, reboots, and minor repairs

    • Perform occasional station maintenance work as needed.

    • Maintain clear and consistent communications with dispatch using provided phone/radio/GPS unit interface

  •   Other duties as assigned

    About You

    •  You have previous experience in construction, outdoor repair work, or repair of electronic equipment strongly preferred.

    • You are excited about working outdoors and using heavy machinery.

    • You are comfortable driving and working in busy urban environments.

    •  You have a working knowledge of New York geography/street layout.

    •  You are a dependable person. You are always at work on time, easily follow instructions and ask for feedback on how to improve.

    • You are available to work between 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday, possibly longer on occasion and can work a weekend shift if needed.

    • You thrive in a team environment.

    • You can lift up to 70 pounds and stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
