Motivate is looking for a detail oriented, well organized, and strong communicator to be the Overnight Shift Manager of the Service Delivery Team. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities in the Swapping Department and managing the performance of the Swappers. The Shift Manager will also be responsible for the training and development of the team along with managing the quality control processes for Battery Swappers.

About the Role

  • Oversee scheduling of employees, including master planning on a biweekly basis, as well as daily updates due to call-outs for employee illnesses, vacations, etc

  • Perform line management duties for Battery Swap Staff, including oversight of time clock activity, PTO usage, etc

  • Support ongoing recruitment of hourly non-exempt staff, including application screening, interviews, open houses, and onboarding

  • Supervise daily operations to maximize customer experience; ensure all operations are executed per Motivate’s standards and department standard operating procedures

  • Report on the previous day’s performance and the current system status for the operations management team on a daily basis

  • Identify and improve the team’s key performance indicators and other metrics

  • Follow safe work practices to create and maintain a working environment in accordance with OSHA safety standards

  • Respond to situations in the field as Manager on Duty

  • Respond to stressful situations in a calm, collected manner and complete standard follow-up procedures without any additional oversight

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Driver’s license required 

About You

  • You have a college degree from an accredited institution

  • You have previous experience working in a bike share or logistics company

  • You are detail oriented, highly organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • You have experience managing large scale inventory

  • You have created and managed training programs for driving employees

  • You are able to work overnight hours and/or weekends.

  • You have a high degree of judgment and thrive in a team environment

  • You are always looking for creative solutions to problems and remain open to others' ideas

  • You are excited by change and enthusiastically adapt in the work environment; manage competing demands; deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.  

  • You are dependable and trustworthy

  • You are able to lift up to 75 pounds; stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time.

This position may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.


Bonus Points

  • Previous transportation or logistics experience.

  • Proficiency in G-Suite
