Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on exposure to the inner workings of a small HR department within a mid-size research institute. The HR Intern will assist the HR department in handling administrative tasks, maintaining records and personnel files, preparing for recruitment needs, and planning employee events. Strong organizational skills and efficient work habits are qualities sought in an HR Intern. This is a part-time unpaid Internship. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assists with administration of employee data entry and fielding general questions.

  • Reviews and posts job descriptions and assists with the recruitment process.

  • Helps with reviewing and updating the Employee Handbook and Policy and Procedure Manual.

  • Assists with onboarding new employees.

  • Assists with maintenance of personnel files.

  • Assists with exit interviews and personnel file updates.

  • Attends HR and event planning meetings that may be required from time to time.

Leveling Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
