The Quad-City Times is seeking an immediate part-time Sports Reporter. If you’re interested in a career in sports journalism or have a passion for sports and telling stories, come join our team!
The successful candidate will cover high school sports and possibly some small college athletics in our two-state coverage area. Because of this, nights and weekends are a must. A writing background is preferred as stories have to be turned on a quick deadline.
There may be an occasional night desk shift where the individual would process emails, faxes and phone calls for roundups and our scoreboard page. Computer-based data entry is essential; typing, grammar and spelling skills are vital.
Applicants with a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and their own personal vehicle are a must. Most of the travel would be within the Quad-Cities metro region, but there could be occasional trips 30 to 40 miles out of the metro.
Pre-employment background and drug screenings apply.
