Are you a reporter with a deep interest in how people live — history, home/garden, dining, the outdoors, the arts and culture?
The Quad-City Times and Moline Dispatch-Argus is looking for you! We’re seeking a reporter who wants to tell smart, compelling features and enterprise pieces about topics like people renovating a historic home, a new exhibit at our world-class art museum, or the cultures and traditions of our under-served communities.
The job includes writing weekly centerpieces for our Home & Garden and Culture sections, along with daily and enterprise coverage.
The Quad-Cities offers a wealth of assets to draw inspiration from, including art, history, military and science museums, a botanical center, a thriving historical restoration and renovation culture, a diverse music scene, and a number of colleges and universities.
The ideal candidate has a talent for getting people to open up, and for finding stories our readers want to share online. You’ll also have a knack for using words, photos and video to create a clickable package.
We’d prefer candidates with previous newsroom experience, but recent college graduates with strong clips will be considered. The Times welcomes diversity in our newsroom.
The Quad-Cities is a fun place to live and work, with many of the amenities of a big city – pro sports, big-name concerts, food and culture – without the traffic and high cost of living.
Applications must include a cover letter, resume and five examples of your finest work.
We offer full benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k), generous paid time off, and life insurance.
