Bid Analyst - Pricing Services

Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm  

SUMMARY

Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed, yet there is some autonomy.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• General application of concepts and principles

• Handles the investigation, evaluation, and/or resolution of issues

• Respond to all inquiries timely

• Provide feedback to improve processes

• Works with other departments as needed

• Communicate effectively with all necessary parties

• Assists in preparation, coordination, and documentation of relevant processes

• Reviews documents for accuracy and completeness, gathering missing documentation as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferred

• Minimum Experience: One to two years of relevant experience

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES and/or SKILLS

• Analyze bid packages and complex data to evaluate pricing strategies and determine bid assignment

• Strategize with national account personnel and field personnel on bid assignment
•  Provide agents with market data to assist with competitive and accurate rating of freight lanes

• Collaborate with agents and national account personnel to develop pricing strategies for each business opportunity

• Review rates prior to submission to assure marketability and customer requirements are met

• Assure bid packages are submitted to customers with all required components by the deadline

• Follow up with customers and document to determine success/failures on opportunities.

• Review bid results and analyze factors affecting awards

• Respond as needed to e-mails received in the Pricing or Automotive Pricing queue.

• Work with other pricing analysts and pricing and administration

• Work with other Landstar departments regarding pricing  

• Other duties as assigned
