Bid Analyst - Pricing Services
Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
SUMMARY
Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed, yet there is some autonomy.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
General application of concepts and principles
Handles the investigation, evaluation, and/or resolution of issues
Respond to all inquiries timely
Provide feedback to improve processes
Works with other departments as needed
Communicate effectively with all necessary parties
Assists in preparation, coordination, and documentation of relevant processes
Reviews documents for accuracy and completeness, gathering missing documentation as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS
Efficient in Microsoft Office
Understanding of Landstar’s business within our industry
Analytical problem solving skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferred
Minimum Experience: One to two years of relevant experience
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES and/or SKILLS
Analyze bid packages and complex data to evaluate pricing strategies and determine bid assignment
- Strategize with national account personnel and field personnel on bid assignment
- Provide agents with market data to assist with competitive and accurate rating of freight lanes
Collaborate with agents and national account personnel to develop pricing strategies for each business opportunity
Review rates prior to submission to assure marketability and customer requirements are met
Assure bid packages are submitted to customers with all required components by the deadline
Follow up with customers and document to determine success/failures on opportunities.
Review bid results and analyze factors affecting awards
Respond as needed to e-mails received in the Pricing or Automotive Pricing queue.
Work with other pricing analysts and pricing and administration
Work with other Landstar departments regarding pricing
Other duties as assigned
