Invoice Auditor, Rockford IL - Currently a work at home position
HOURS: 8am - 5pm M-F
Audit contractor's trip paperwork for completeness and accuracy against terminal transactions. Generate invoices or EDI transmissions in accordance with customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Provide high quality customer service to agents, contractors, and customers (both inbound and outbound)
Ensure BCOs, Third Party Capacity, and Agents settlements are met daily
Monitor credit queue to ensure all loads are released with correct customer information timely.
Instruct agents, BCOs and Third Party Capacity on Landstar’s and customer billing requirements
Responsible for interacting with Agents, BCOs and Third Party capacity to ensure the correct billing documentation is received
Audit and process freight bills for assigned terminals, against customer and system requirements to ensure proper billing
Communicate and maintain correct customer master specifications with the Credit Department
Perform a cursory review of accessorials and notify Management of suspected accessorial abuse.
Monitor that changes are made in a timely manner and the requirements meet settlement deadlines
Must meet department production standards
Understand business needs and processes of customer invoicing requirements
Research, update and correct all bills received via the QR99, Return Mail, and EDI rejection & AR Hard Copy Error Reports
Update and maintain customer requirements with communications to Credit, Accounts, Receivable Departments, and Agents
Work and resolve all pending A, D, H & P status freight bills
Communicate billing discrepancies to agents and notify agents of all changes to freight bills
Monitor for accuracy of tractor and trailer information between paperwork and order entry on all BCO loads.
Communicate with consignees when necessary to provide proof of delivery verification.
Clear out personal billing queue every morning.
Communicate with internal/external entities to facilitate timely processing of all freight bills
Be aware of and adhere to any and all specialized billing requirements for customers
Provide back up as needed to other departments in the company
Review accessorial codes and determine which freight bills are forwarded to the Rate Department for further audit
Review accessorial codes and identify when further attention is needed for billing over the limit expected
Responsible for billing EDI accounts and specialized billing such as Canadian and high revenue producing customers.
Available to work mandatory overtime as needed.

Customer service experience in a similar environment
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as bills of lading, confirmation sheets, customer requirements, and procedure manuals.
Billing experience, preferred
Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook, required
Data entry skills 88 + kpm
Ten Key by touch, 88+ kpm
Must be detail oriented
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and production levels
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to multi-task
Problem resolution skills required
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. iSeries 400 experience, preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as bills of lading, confirmation sheets, customer requirements, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups to customers and employees of the organization.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
