UPDATE! We will be interviewing in mid-March for the 2019 golf season! Employees will start approximately late-March through mid-May. Start dates will vary depending on weather and golf course conditions.
The Kenosha County Division of Golf is accepting applications for long-term seasonal positions at our two golf courses, Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs. We are looking for hardworking individuals to assist in the maintenance of the entire golf facility including maintenance shop, greens, tees, and fairways. Candidates must work well within our golf course maintenance team to help provide the best playing conditions for our guests. Other qualities we are looking for include a positive attitude, an eye for detail, and a willingness to learn new skills. Knowledge of golf beneficial, but not required.
WORK SCHEDULE

Long-term seasonal employees generally work from March to November.
-
The work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Must be available to work alternating weekends and holidays.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Operate power tools, string trimmers, push and riding mowers.

Perform manual tasks including hand digging, raking bunkers, setting cups and tee markers, hand watering greens, and filling divots.

Pick up and properly dispose of debris and trash.

Plant flowers, trees, landscaping, and sod.

Perform preventative maintenance on, repair, and clean mechanical equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
-
Minimum one year experience in maintenance.
Licenses or Certifications
-
Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency.

Acceptable driving record.
Other Job Requirements

18 years of age at time of application.

General maintenance work with the most efficient utilization of equipment.

Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.

Safety precautions and procedures applicable to maintenance equipment.

Ability to:

Communicate effectively; follow oral and written instructions.

Maintain positive interactions with co-workers and guests.

Operate various golf course maintenance equipment including, trucks, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical and non-mechanical equipment.

Work independently to meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires full range of physical movement – bending, reaching, lifting, etc.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, including temperature extremes.
