Reading Truck Group- Truck Installation Technician

JOB TITLE: TRUCK INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: Nashville, TN

Position Summary:

Truck Technicians work under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment such as dump bodies, crane bodies, bumper cranes, etc.

Position Responsibilities:

•Adhere to all Safety procedures, processes, and PPE usage.

•Maintain 5S of work area.

•Maintain Quality of work as specific in quality specifications

•Install truck bodies, body cranes, bumper crane, plows. etc.

•Mount hitches, shelves, drawers

•Install ladder racks, mud flaps

•Install back-up cameras

•Train mechanics as needed

•Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager

•Attaches hardware, like drawer pulls, locks, latches, or metal ornaments, to finished product, using hand tools power screwdriver

•Perform other assignments as required

Position Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

•High School diploma or GED preferred

•Willing to work overtime and varied shift assignments as required

•Prior experience preferred.

Experience:

•Manufacturing industry background experience preferred

•Prior auto mechanic experience helpful

Skills and Abilities:

•Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow paint specifications as stated on work order.

•Basic math skills

•Mix paint consistently in accordance with paint specifications

Physical Demand:

•Frequent lifting up 35 to 50 lbs.

•Frequent standing and walking on concrete floor

•Frequent firm hand grasping

•Standing, stooping, bending

•Above should work while holding various small hand tools

•Ability to visually see, read, and comprehend data supplied on work orders

Supervisory responsibilities: None

Work environment:

•Manufacturing. fast paced environment

•Seasonal ambient temperature

•Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
