The Settlements Analyst will provide management with statistical and processing data for Settlement Services within Operations. The Analyst will also continuously identify process improvements throughout the department with a focus on risk mitigation and modernization of current platforms. The Analyst will work closely with all Operations Teams to ensure timely and accurate postings of all Settlements related activities, timely and accurate delivery of time-sensitive information and will act on instructions from the field for various trades.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuous monitoring of all daily functions with a vision for process improvement
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients (internal and external)
  • Participate and/or lead projects related to automation of various components of Settlements
  • Mine data within the system with an eye toward automation of functions and risk mitigation
  • Competently use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other applications to complete necessary operational duties
  • Accurate and timely daily reconcilement of all cash and stock positions across all suspense accounts
  • Interface effectively with Operations and Management Teams, Operations Departments, Executive Offices and all other areas of the firm
  • Update policies and procedures as necessary and draft new policies and procedures as needed
  • Assist with operations initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist others when necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to prioritize and execute duties quickly and accurately within tight timeframes
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in order to interact at all levels of the firm
  • Familiarity with VBAs and Macros preferred
  • Experience using Thomson Beta, ThoughtSpot and Metaviewer a plus
  • Strong initiative and time management skills
  • Experience with robotic process (RPA) a plus
  • Strong understanding of risk management and FINRA regulations a plus
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines
  • An effective team player who works well under pressure and interacts appropriately with others
  • Familiarity with DTCC, JP Morgan, BONY a plus

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of related industry experience preferred
  • College degree preferred
  • Series 99 preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire)
