Position Summary

The Plant Master Scheduler drives production planning for all Waxahachie manufacturing. Working closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and the customer service departments to ensure the production schedule is attained and communicated throughout organization. 

 

Primary Functions:

  • Key contact with outside contract molding/assembly operation.
  • Builds/maintains capacity planning model and provides feedback to the team.
  • Updates delivery dates in the ERP system.
  • Responsible for the efficient management of scheduling/planning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintains production schedule in line with customer requirements to ensure orders are on time.
  • Schedules changeovers and preventative maintenance when necessary.
  • Provides information to Plant Manager concerning actual performance versus planned and the status of various projects throughout collection and interpretation of applicable reports.
  • Review and provide lead times for manufactured items by coordinating with production and purchasing.
  • Completes job traveler and issues related materials as needed.
  • Closes completed jobs as needed.
  • Issues pull lists as needed.
  • Understands and follows plant safety rules.  Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern.  Assists in monitoring of quality of work output.
  • Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to direct Supervisor. 
  • Maintains good working relations with all other employees.  Strives to have no conflicts with other employees.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, a business related degree or significant equivalent scheduling or planning experience.

 

Experience/Knowledge

  • 3-5 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing with plastics molding preferred.
  • Three to five years planning and scheduling experience.
  • Three to five years previous experience with ERP system (SAP/Epicor preferred).
  • Progressive knowledge and experience in utilizing manufacturing software is required.
  • Experience with materials management tools as well as working knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
  • Effectively communicates with others both verbally and in writing.

Environment: Normal manufacturing environments; work with machinery and media in or around confined spaces; exposure to chemicals, grease and oils. 

Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying; reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing; standing for moderate periods of time. 

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Other: Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
