Iteris has an exciting new position to support federal programs and state government IT projects throughout the United States. This position will serve as an IT Project Manager, with responsibility for supporting state government clients in developing project plans, drafting federal grant applications and performing business analysis in support of transportation and commercial motor vehicle programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing direct support to public agency personnel with a broad range of technical backgrounds, briefing government officials, coordinating with stakeholders, developing scopes of work, and working independently or within a team environment. In addition, the right candidate will be mission oriented, detail focused and must be able to professionally represent Iteris or the client in project meetings. 

Iteris is seeking an 
IT Project Manager with responsibility for supporting state government clients in developing project plans, drafting federal grant applications and performing business analysis in support of transportation and commercial motor vehicle programs. Comfortable providing direct support to public agency personnel with a broad range of technical backgrounds, briefing government officials, coordinating with stakeholders, developing scopes of work, and working independently or within a team environment.

What you will be doing:
  • Prepare work breakdown structures (WBS) using MS Project. 
  • Develop program and project plans in accordance with PMBOK standards and Iteris Project Management Methodologies 
  • Produce technical documentation such as interface control documents, system and network diagrams, etc. 
  • Prepare procurement documentation such as system and business requirements and funding plans. 
  • Provide recommendations for product and process improvement to internal and external customers based on analysis of business processes and technical functionality.
  • Develop industry and subject matter expertise relevant to commercial vehicle operations and transportation analytics projects under the direction of the Senior Project Manager. 
  • Assist with development of proposals.
  • Manage assigned projects including monitoring progress, approving invoicing, forecasting resource requirements and reporting project status. 
  • Participate in business development activities to aid in nurturing a healthy project backlog within the Program strategy for CVO consulting and related services. 
What you need to be successful in this role:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing complex and diverse Information Technology (IT) projects
  • Understanding of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Innovative Technology Deployment (ITD) programs, Performance Registration Management Information Systems (PRISM) or Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO) preferred.
  • Experience working with State and/or Federal government entities.
  • Experience writing federal grant applications and/or managing federal grants.
  • Experience with state or federal procurement practices.
  • Ability to draft technical documents, program plans, project plans and graphics using Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Demonstrated ability for timely completion of work within budget.
  • Ability to work directly with Subject Matter Experts to translate requirements into specifications and code
  • Ability to pass a TIER 3 background check. 
  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or related field
  • Professional project/program management certification (PMP, PgMP).
