Engineer I - Qubit Signal Integration & Test Engineer

General Job Description: Looking for motivated and organized individual to join an existing integrated multi-disciplinary engineering team to help build new instrumentation hardware. Conduct electrical measurements to characterize and validate analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, and signal chains. Perform simulation of signal & noise generation, propagation, and device performance. Summarize technical results using oral and written reports to aid in the development of platform and system hardware.
Experience Desired: Hands on experience with design and testing of electronic systems including electronic circuits, transmission lines, and packaged devices. Experience with high speed RF/microwave and digital test and measurement techniques including vector network analysis (VNA), spectrum analysis, time domain reflectometry/transmission (TDR/TDT), real-time and sample oscilloscopes. Experience with computer modeling software (eg. HFSS, Simulink) strongly preferred.
Knowledge Desired:Familiarity with linear time-invariant systems, applications of signals and systems, and signal fidelity. Programming experience (MATLAB, Python, other modern scientific programming language) and familiarity with PCB design principles is a plus. Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, presentations, word processing) required.

• Excellent communication skills: work well in a creative team environment, possess, and have willingness to train / mentor others
• Must be able to perform tasks safely in a lab environment and be able to climb and work on ladders and/or scaffolding
• Ability to lift and move small to moderate sized test equipment
Education Desired: Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physics or related field. Looking for candidates top in their class, GPA > 3.5, and additional experience may be considered for more advanced positions.
Special Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.
