WET PROCESS ENGINEER I

Located in Malibu, California, HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.

2nd shift hours start at 12:00pm.

Essential Job Functions:

Fabrication and processing of III-V (GaAs, InP, GaN, etc.) integrated circuits within a cleanroom laboratory environment. Work within the Wet Process module will consist of chemical etching, metal liftoff, wafer cleans and electroplating processing in a high-mix semiconductor fabrication lab. This position includes both hands-on, single wafer, beaker processing as well as operation of production-oriented, automated semiconductor processing equipment for small scale production, R&D and process development projects. Candidate will be involved in maintaining existing processes along with developing and executing engineering experiments for improved quality and reduced cycle time which will include data recording, analysis and presenting of results and recommendations to HRL research staff and line management. Will also be responsible for troubleshooting problems and working with the team for conclusive corrective actions.


Knowledge and Experience Desired:

1+ years hands on experience in processing of semiconductor devices and circuits with an emphasis in chemical processing, a strong understanding of chemistry preferred. Computer skills using Excel, Powerpoint and Word. This position requires candidates to work their entire shift within a cleanroom environment wearing appropriate PPE. Must be able to follow detailed instructions, operate in a multitasking environment and have exceptional organization and communication skills.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be sufficiently mobile and able to work within confined spaces and be able to work within a class 10 cleanroom. Must be able to work safely with and around potentially toxic and hazardous materials, chemicals and gases. Good hand eye coordination with strong ability to work with very fragile wafer materials.

Education Desired:
 
B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or related field 


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to work flexible hours and show proof of US Citizenship.
