Quantum Algorithms Intern
Located in Malibu, California, HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
Current graduate or exceptional undergraduate student in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Essential Job Functions:
Evaluate the real-world resource requirements of quantum algorithms (existing or under development) targeting problems in quantum chemistry and/or logistics via design, analysis, and/or simulation.Effectively present ideas and results in technical presentations, write research reports, and collaborate and communicate with team members.
Experience and Knowledge Desired:
Coursework or equivalent experience in quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, scientific computing, numerical analysis, and high performance computing. Application of scientific software to problems of scientific and technological interest. Knowledge of Python highly desirable.Knowledge of existing open-source quantum simulation tools a plus.
Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:
Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced heterogeneous team environment.
