ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide accounting expertise in areas such as accounts payable, auditing, reconciliations, journal entries, inventory management, preparation of financial statements, tax return support (property, sales, incomes), and maintaining effective internal controls. Financial and business support for contract activities.
Responsible for financial analysis and reports for programs and internal projects. Included is the requirement that financial data be properly prepared, reviewed, analyzed, and submitted on time. In addition, this position is responsible for actively identifying risks that affect cost and/or schedule and providing proactive analysis of all financial aspects of assigned projects.
5+ years’ experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines (Contracts, Operations, Engineering, etc) as it relates to financial and accounting activities.
Prefer accounting experience in a government-contracting environment and working knowledge of the compliance requirements in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Familiarity with the various forms or revenue recognition, financial statement review, and long-term project accounting.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to support the preparation and presentation of written briefs and summaries for executive communication.
Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of MS Excel. Ability to quickly learn and utilize program management systems and tools such as Deltek Costpoint and TM1; and independently create and accurately analyze cost data.
Good organizational skills in leading/coordinating program personnel toward common finance goals by setting priorities and working within deadlines. Understanding how to apply accounting principles as it relates to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline, Master’s Degree and CPA/CMA preferred
