Engineer III - Advanced Semiconductor Test Engineer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform complex, cryogenic measurements of state-of-the-art semiconductor devices to characterize their properties as part of an ambitious, goal-oriented, multi-disciplinary team focused on maturation of the technology.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Conduct ultra-low temperature measurements of semiconductor devices in collaboration with other device scientists, document, standardize, and automate test methodologies, analyze test results, write script level code to support experimental development and data analysis, report findings to other team members in oral presentations and written reports. Collaborate with measurement-system-engineering team and utilize applicable engineering analysis tools to identify and implement improvements to device-control, interconnect, and environmental subsystems.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Detailed knowledge of semiconductor device testing or cryogenic device testing, understanding of analog circuit design, basic familiarity with scientific programming for data analysis and hardware interfacing (specific language is not critical), experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and reports.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment. Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment. Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.


EDUCATION DESIRED: M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physics or Materials with an emphasis on semiconductor device testing or cryogenic device testing and 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering or science.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
