EDUCATION DESIRED: Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or associates degree with minimum 2 years of related experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform electronic and mechanical assembly and packaging of printed circuit boards (PCBs), modules and subsystems. Perform soldering, SMT, wirebonding and flip chip assemblies per written work instructions. Rework on PCBs and modules. Uses and operates hotplates, ovens, hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, torque tools, wire strippers, and crimping tools as necessary to perform job duties. Set up and conduct basic DC and RF testing (e.g. voltage, current and power measurement) of RF boards and modules. Organize test data and report results to technical staff.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Experience with electronic and mechanical assemblies and rework on PCBs and modules. Experience with soldering, SMT, wirebonding and flip chip assemblies. Experience with CAD layout for PCB and mechanical drawing is very desirable. Must have working knowledge of standard DC and RF test equipment.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Knowledge of electrical and mechanical assemblies and MIL-standards. Basic understanding of DC, RF and microwave engineering. Familiarity with CAD layout for PCB and mechanical drawing is very desirable. Knowledge of basic passive and transistor device operation are a plus. Use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and proficiency in writing for reporting is necessary.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to relocate small to moderate sized test equipment. Must work closely with design engineers and program managers as integral part of design team. Proficiency in use of computers, engineering work stations, complex electronic equipment, verbal and written communication, interaction with customers/colleagues and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work well in a team and independently. Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (e.g. driver’s license, special tools or restrictions): U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
