Grede Casting - Biscoe is seeking an experienced, accomplished,
self-motivated Electrical Engineer to maintain and support our North Carolina
facility. The Electrical Engineer will work with a variety of functional groups
that are directly involved in supporting our operational team. The ideal
candidate is an inventive problem solver that can work through technical
challenges and employing pragmatic solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Operate computer-assisted engineering (AutoCAD) or design software
to perform tasks.
Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems,
or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to
Confer with fellow engineers, operations team, and management to
discuss existing or potential maintenance engineering projects.
Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments,
equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial,
industrial, or domestic purposes.
Direct and or coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance,
support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with
specifications, codes, or customer (internal/external) requirements.
Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance
with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
Support manufacturing department with product development and
Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects.
Will provide regular updates and reports to management.
Manage vendors, get quotes, make Capex proposals, manage projects
Manage hourly technicians along with Maintenance Supervision in
completion of plant projects.
Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and
Keep current with the latest technical innovations in electrical
Must maintain acceptable safety and attendance records.
Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot (strong skill set), write code, trace
wiring, and read blueprints.
Must have PLC knowledge.
Knowledge of motor controls, touch screens, and the ability to
read electrical schematics.
Hydraulic schematics/Allen-Bradley SIEMENS experience a plus.
5 years minimum manufacturing experience – foundry or similar
Must be able to work flexible hours.
4-year electrical engineering degree required
Must be able to stand, bend, twist, knell, walk for 10+ hours.
Must be able to push, pull or lift to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in an extreme hot environment.
Must be able to pass respirator fit test and comply with
requirements when working in regulated areas.
