530000-Facility Maintenance-Maintenance Technician II

Position Title: Maintenance Technician II Status: Full Time, non-exempt

Position Description: This position is responsible for performing a variety of preventative maintenance and general

handyman repairs to commercial buildings and equipment. Attends to and completes written work orders for general

building repairs. Responsible for planning, organizing, prioritizing and delegating job assignments, purchasing necessary

parts and supplies, and assist in overseeing contracted projects. Also works with Compliance, Risk & Safety Manager to

conduct safety inspections of buildings and equipment, providing documentation and initiating course of action.

Principle Duties: This position is required to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

• Performs advanced building and equipment repairs including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air conditioning,

concrete, painting, installations and repairs.

• Minor construction work to include stud framing, gypsum wall boarding; door, window, and hardware installation;

vinyl composition and ceramic floor tile installations.

• Inspect emergency systems to include fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and actuated lighting systems. Inspects

and corrects safety problems and file reports to the Facility Manager and/or Lead Maintenance.

• Procures bids for contractor repairs and coordinates projects.

• Performs inventory and monitors purchase and supply of paints, solvents and chemicals for maintaining SDS logs.

• Drives company vehicle to and from job sites and/or to supply vendors for purchasing parts.

• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Licenses:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Minimum three years working experience or schooling in related field.

• Valid CA Driver’s License: clean DMV printout, and be insurable to drive company vehicles.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and walk up to 7 hours per day.

• Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

• Some climbing, balancing, bending, and twisting required. Finger and manual dexterity required.

• Work inside and outside required along with working independently and alongside others.


• Must have knowledge of building construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting.

• Knowledge of air conditioning system with a 608 EPA or electrical certification helpful.

• Must know how to operate all power repair tools in a safe and effective manner.

• Able to read technical schematics and building floor plans.

• Able to follow complex verbal and written instructions to perform all tasks safe and efficiently.

• Starting wage for this position: $18.00-21.00/hour
