Human Resources - HR Business Partner II
At USA TODAY NETWORK, we are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join the team as a HR Business Partner will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This position provides comprehensive Human Resource support to a business unit that may include employee relations, performance management, orientations, and training.Position reports to the Sr. Director of Human Resources.
Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate:
The HR Business Partner will build partnerships across the HR function to help deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the division you support. The HR Business Partner serves as a resource and advisor who: provides HR subject matter expertise in a manner that is both pragmatic and actionable, manages organizational risk through coaching/informing front line leaders of the implications of HR decisions; and providing solutions that both mitigate risk and accomplish desired results.
A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the pulse of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
Ability to create and drive effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs.
Advise management with respect to employee relations and performance management issues, with an emphasis on early identification and resolution
Facilitating leadership development and key talent retention efforts (e.g. coaching/counseling, employee recognition, talent talks)
Assist in developing solutions through organizational development (e.g. restructuring, roles and responsibility clarification, workforce planning)
Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
The ability to think big but also not be afraid to ‘roll up your sleeves’.
Collaborate with HR and functional teams in the development of process improvement opportunities that may be scaled across the locations as well as the company.
Ensure 2-way communication across HR and functional teams to support the location(s).

Experience with rapid and complex changing work environments.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding employment, wage and hours, OSHA and related laws
Proactively anticipate and address issues.
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Human Resources or equivalent.
At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources
A working knowledge of employment laws and multi-level recruitment experience
Human resources experience, with employee relations, performance management, succession planning, and recruiting
Ability to travel as needed
