Video Editor
The Video Editor position exists to edit various video projects for the Visual Media Department.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensures that all projects on the edit system are managed properly and backed up accurately according to the standards set forth by the Lead Coordinating Producer.
Ensures that all projects are uploaded for review and archival purposes and labeled correctly according to standards set forth by the Focus Asset Management system
Ensures that completed products meet Focus standards before distribution
Organizes and edits projects to completion of edited master (i.e., editing, graphics creation, video sweetening)
Provides technical director duties as assigned by Lead Coordinating Producer for live and taped events and broadcasts
Assists the Lead Coordinating Producer with uplinks, drop cam duties and other tasks as assigned
Provides customer service follow-up with media contacts as directed by Lead Coordinating Producer
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
May act as producer or director on projects as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
Maintains the overarching quality standard for the department by working in tandem with the Lead Coordinating Producer, content owners, and outside vendors
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
TV Studio environment
Location Set environment
Office environment
Travel as necessary to attend classes/seminars to improve creative skills and to assist with shooting as needed
Must have ability to work occasional long hours or weekends on short notice
Stress and pressure associated with deadlines

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Media Production or related field or equivalent work experience
3-5 years’ experience of hands-on editing
Working knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
Ability to operate sophisticated video recording/editing equipment, including Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop
Ability to communicate effectively
Basic organizational skills
Creative, idea generator
Effective listener
Competent in basic computer skills in both Macintosh and PCs
Pay Range: $21.69 to $25.77/hr.
