As a Salesforce Platform Lead, you will manage the backload of work to assign to a team of Salesforce Admins/Developers focused on platform maintenance and stability. The Platform Lead will ensure business fit and non-functional elements of platform implementation are effective. This is a key role in Defect / Incident resolution and is equipped to mitigate significant and sustained impact to the business. Candidates should have deep functional Salesforce Platform expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for troubleshooting and problem solving.


Responsibilities & Skills:

  • The Platform Owner is responsible for platform general setup and governance such as Salesforce limits usage, security and access settings, user access, and installed packages, etc.
  • Maintain and manage the platform to remain compliant with business processes, internal compliance, & IT security practices
  • Design processes to improve efficiencies on internal Salesforce operational processes
  • Responsible for understanding each sprint deployment to enable the platform team effectively take over support of these features post hypercare period
  • Candidate is required to stay up to date on Salesforce changes, critical updates, and improvements to understand and evaluate the impact to the platform.
  • Identify emerging trends in Customer Relationship Management and Salesforce solutions in order to better align technical solutions with customer needs, to ensure the delivered solution meets customer requirements, and that best practices are being followed
  • Have enough technical expertise to have a broad understanding of how the technical platform operates, what is a (likely) easy and difficult solution/ask
  • Ability to articulate in a story format the requirements of changes needed on the platform for the engineering team
  • Coordinate with various teams and raise support ticket for all issues, analyze root cause and assist in efficient resolution of all production processes.
  • Ability to knowledge share with associates about salesforce capability and available functionality including coaching for junior staff members
  • Support the technical teams or business teams in any metadata or data restoration processes
  • Delivering customer satisfaction and overall excellence by identifying opportunities
  • Use knowledge of Salesforce functionality to assess business requirements and shape solutions for small-scale improvements as time allows
  • Responsible for continuous functional improvements on the platform, which do not require major incremental development work
  • During major projects, the platform team will support any overflow of BAU requests as capacity allows; works with Chief Product Owner to agree on priorities
  • Candidate should be able to execute configuration changes on the platform to support the team as needed

    Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience of Agile frameworks, methods, and practices including scrum and kanban
  • Salesforce ADM201 Certification preferred
  • Responsible for making moderate to significant changes or enhancements to systems and processes, through significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation to solve problems or improve effectiveness within the job area
  • Has the technical expertise to have a broad understanding of how the technical platform operates, what is a (likely) easy and difficult solution/ask
  • Ability to understand highly complex technical problems and build cross-functional solutions in relation to current and future business environments.
  • Good overview of technologies available on the market and market best practices
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and conceptual skills needed to develop efficient and effective solutions for a variety of size scenarios and complex business problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills to provide and explain technical information to business collaborates, vendors, and management
  • 5+ years of experience with Salesforce as an administrator/architect
  • Solid knowledge of the Salesforce platform and wide range of other Salesforce products capabilities
  • Ability to create necessary architectural documentation including high-level system/technical diagrams to share with product and technical teams including architects

    Platform Team Structure:

  • Consists of 1 Platform Lead, 1 Senior Developer, and 1 Administrator with work schedules during US hours
  • Part Time QA Support will be available during US hours
  • Part Time Tier 2 Support role will be available during US hours
  • Team size and structure will be re-evaluated as we grow in feature / org complexity
