JavaScript Engineer
Job Overview:
FLEETCOR is in need of an experienced JavaScript Engineering professional to join our team. Our UI Engineering team is a part of the North American vertical of FLEETCOR IT and collaborates with business groups to design and implement new enterprise systems and products for improved operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Always make security the top priority
- Code using Vanilla JavaScript (ES6+)
- Identify and leverage vanilla JavaScript libraries for common problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, document and implement quality solutions
- Design and implement automated unit and functional tests
- Design and implement solutions for availability, scalability, and performance
- Troubleshoot and fix issues
- Perform code reviews and mentor team members
- Collaborate and pair with multiple teams to share knowledge and improve everyone’s skills
- Define and document processes and analyses
Required Skills
- 6+ years’ hands on experience in JavaScript developing front-end applications
- Expertise in JavaScript skills, including object-oriented
- Working knowledge of ES6 features
- Expertise with HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience with static site generators. We are using Hugo
- Experience with unit and functional testing
- Experience with Git-based development using GitHub Flow
- Experience working with Docker
- Experience building internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) functionality
- Experience with open-source platforms and technologies
- Knowledge of industry trends and relevant application technologies
- Adept at mastering new technology, processes and software applications
- Dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction, persistent about achieving project goals
- Interpersonal skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, influencing and negotiating
- Own vital relationships both up and downstream of the platform teams to ensure delivery
Desired Skills
- Experience working in an agile development environment with daily standups, estimations, and sprints
- Experience mentoring junior developers
- Proven ability to work in a global, multicultural environment
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Financial Service or Bank experience
