Sr. Java Developer

As a Lead Developer, you will lead development for agile teams that services our Corporate Payments business, directing an agile team that strongly believes in designing for scale and performance, rigorous code reviews, and automated testing. You regularly collaborate with stakeholders, other agile teams, and various operations groups, serving as a team liaison and partner. Your deep hands-on knowledge of design, development, coding, and testing across various technology domains will be counted on to solve complex and mission-critical problems.
 

Principal Accountabilities 

  • Translates high-level requirements into detailed technical designs, and leads design sessions and code walkthroughs
  • Moniters and maintains the team’s code quality by focusing on static code analysis, unit testing, code reviews, continuous integration, release management, and performance testing
  • Strongly emphasizes utilizing both automated deployments and efficient CI/CD processes
  • Works with product owners and development team members to accurate size and estimate new features
  • Designs, implements, deploys, and supports applications across a variety of functions and platforms
  • Serves as a technical lead for an Agile team, actively participating in all Agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration, and team retrospectives
  • Solves complex technical problems and design issues, identifying solutions to resolve/prevent production issues

 Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/related field or equivalent experience
  • Eight+ years’ experience in applications development technologies

 

Required Knowledge and Skill 

  • Experience in leading development teams and serving as a communication liaison among multiple groups
  • Understands the concepts of Cloud, Continuous Delivery, TDD, and automated testing frameworks – Selenium, REST Client, Soap UI, REST Assured
  • Understands core web fundamentals: HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Experience in software development leveraging a variety of languages such as Java, Python, .NET, NodeJS, etc.
  • Experience with Java/J2EE, Web Services, Spring Framework, and Messaging
  • Hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, or NodeJS and their unit testing frameworks (desired)
  • Experience Oracle/DB2 experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience designing and deploying workloads to Amazon Web Services or similar cloud platform (desired)
  • Hands-on experience participating in the design and implementation of REST APIs and micro services
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers
  • Passionate about developing and enforcing coding standards
