Position Summary


The Manager of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is a full-time resource responsible for leading the UAT team.  This person will establish, implement and improve best practices within the UAT department.  The Manager of UAT will develop a working understanding of the test environments, testing tools and methodologies.  Test strategy formulation will include decomposing the business requirements into test case scenarios, identification of test data requirements, managing test case creation, devising contingencies plans and other preparation activities. 


During the actual test event, this person is responsible for overseeing the development of test case execution plans, user acceptance test case execution, and will manage issues and report metrics.  Additional areas of responsibilities include acting as a liaison between the Line of Business testing resources and the Quality Assurance team, investigating, monitoring, and reporting issues.  The Manager of UAT is responsible for leveraging manual and automated testing tools and processes wherever possible.  Schedule flexibility to support releases is required on an as needed basis. 


Summary of Essential Job Functions


  • Partners with the business and Information Technology to meet the needs of the overall UAT process

  • Ability to build relationships, effectively communicate, consult and advise a diverse group of management and business users is required

  • Regularly interacts with key stakeholders to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the UAT process and communicates best practices

  • Manages the development of test plans, scenarios, scrips and the test library; responsible for ensuring appropriate business approvals are received prior to project implementation

  • Understands and applies compliance requirements and applies to UAT processes, is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate UAT records and reports

  • Supports collaboration with QA and UAT resources to optimize testing, isolate bugs and issues, and tracks defects

  • Manage, mentor, grow and coach UAT testers

  • Formulates test strategies based on technical specification documents, business requirements and business operations

  • Ability to identify and document impacts to processes and liaise with stakeholders


Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree, technical certification or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of QA or UAT experience with an emphasis on deconstructing business requirements, writing test plans and test scripts is required

  • Must have strong analytical and problem management skills to be able to resolve issues as they arise

  • Prior experience participating in large, complex technology projects is required

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Experience with end-to-end software system testing required

  • Availability to work various shifts, extended hours and to provide on-call support as required




  • Experience with Microsoft Visio preferred

  • Understanding of basic training material development is preferred

  • Other skill sets that would be useful are prior banking experience in one or more of the following delivery channels – retail banking, telephone call center, or credit card services
