TITLE: Facilities Technician
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager and Facilities Supervisor (under supervision of General Manager and Assistant General Manager)
Role & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated person who has a keen attention to detail. Facilities Specialists play an important role at Color Factory. Facilities Specialists ensure the full functionality and maintenance of the facility and the artist’s installations. The ideal candidate would have the ability to multitask between repairs, replenishments, establishing priorities, having effective time management, a sense of urgency, and experience working with tools.

As a Facilities Specialist you will be working within a small team, responsible for the following:
Ensuring the full functionality of the facility. This includes but is not limited to technical support, maintenance and troubleshooting cameras, audio and visual components crucial to the museum's interactive experience.
Maintaining museum quality aesthetics and cleanliness. This includes painting, refreshing and cleaning the facility during hours of operations as well as weekly touch-ups on production days.
Restocking, logging and organizing inventory.
Opening and closing the facility. You will be responsible for opening and starting all the facilities features, ensuring it is ready for high traffic on a daily basis as well as shutting down the facility and the features during closing.
Cleaning and replenishing as needed throughout the day.
Specialty production projects such as fabrication and installation of new additions/alterations to the exhibit as needed.
Ensuring safety by reporting faulty items requiring repair or maintenance. Safely operating equipment with all necessary personal protective gear. Maintaining equipment and keeping it in good repair and ensuring appropriate storage of tools.
A working knowledge or understanding of basic repair concepts. Ability to inspect/repair or replace art installations or the building’s facilities. Performs carpentry, painting, plastering/drywall and a variety of general maintenance throughout the Museum.

• Must be punctual and reliable

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Flexible schedule is preferred; open availability on weekends is required
• Flexible with tasks throughout the work day
• Ability to troubleshoot various situations

About Color Factory:
Color Factory is a collaborative interactive exhibit that debuted in San Francisco in August 2017. What was intended as a month-long run unexpectedly flourished as a celebration of color and creativity that lasted for another eight sold-out months. We have since opened our flagship in New York City in August 2018, where we’ve seen consistently sold-out crowds. In 20,000 square feet, we feature brand-new participatory installations of colors we’ve collected around the city— hues that invite curiosity, discovery and play.
In October 2019, we opened in Houston, Texas. Some of our favorite artists, creatives, designers and makers have teamed up with us to tell their unique color stories and engage all of the senses in unexpected ways.
Color Factory provides a unique experience carefully designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Through guided activities, interactive installations, and special treats and surprises we hope to connect our guests to the colorful moments within our communities and in their own daily lives.
