CardWorks, through its subsidiaries CardWorks Servicing and Merrick Bank, is one of the largest privately-held providers of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America and a top-20 issuer of Visa credit cards.

Position Summary:

The Corporate Strategy team is dedicated to facilitating and executing specific strategic initiatives that fall outside of the day-to-day operations of the Company. As an Analyst in the department, you will work with people across the Company to drive a wide variety of strategic, operational, and corporate projects that will create value for the Company. You will have ample opportunity to learn, develop, and take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts qualitative research on market trends, competitive positioning, and other strategic themes
  • Apprises internal stakeholders (senior management, Business Unit and Function Area leaders, etc.) of relevant information to ensure they can effectively run their Business Unit or Functional Area
  • Prepares financial models to analyze potential M&A, partnership, or other strategic opportunities that the Company is evaluating
  • Assists in conducting due diligence on potential M&A, partnership, or other strategic opportunities that the Company is evaluating
  • Develops and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Develops a strong understanding of CardWorks’ Business Units and Functional Areas
  • Assists Business Units and Functional Areas in executing strategic priorities, special projects, and / or ad hoc analyses critical to their Business Unit or Functional Area
  • Drafts communication materials with key messages and conclusions for internal stakeholders
  • Assists in preparation of quarterly materials for the Board of Directors
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in business, finance, economics, or related field required
  • One (1)—two (2) years of relevant work experience, with a background in financial services required

 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, necessary for the creation of reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and the Board of Directors
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills, must be able to synthesize information and develop insights and / or opinions for internal projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of leadership and employees within the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and competing priorities
