Clatsop County occupies the northwest corner of Oregon bounded to the north by the Columbia River and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Named for the Clatsop Indians, Clatsop County is rich in history, scenery and opportunity.

Seeking one environmental health professional to administer and supervise the Public Health Department’s environmental health program pursuant to contract with the Oregon Health Authority, conduct epidemiological investigations, serve as the county’s Household Hazardous Waste Program authority, and perform direct services as part of the work routine.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science(s) related to environmental health. Minimum five years of progressively responsible work including supervision or management. A minimum of 10 quarter hours or equivalent semester hours in soil science, soil morphology, and physical geology or geomorphology. Eligible to register with the State of Oregon as an Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist Trainee; NEHA REHS/RS preferred. Additional credential as a Waste Water Specialist or Waste Water Specialist Trainee preferred.
