àSupervises the Food and Beverage operations on an assigned shift.

àServes as a back up to all outlets, as needed.

àLeads by example upholding basic restaurant SOP, as described in the Service Training Manual.


àManages the day-to-day operation of the assigned restaurant and beverage service.

àDrive culture-based team dynamics through example and coaching.

àResponsible and held accountable for monitoring of alcohol consumption by guests and administering cutoffs as needed for the entire floor on a given shift.

àAssists the F&B Manager in hiring, training and supervising all food and beverage associates as directed by the F&B Manager.

àWork actively with kitchen, leadership, and service teams to drive business, service, and experience quality

àEnsures that guest service is at a consistently high level.

àMonitors and adjusts the daily work schedules to appropriate staffing levels. Authorize and approve schedule coverage and changes. Authorized to do weekly schedules and approved by the F&B Manager.

àEnsure associates’ meal breaks are taken accordingly; manage daily labor in line with labor targets.

àKeeps associates well informed and up to date with important information applying to special events, marketing programs etc.

àServe as communication hub between staff, guests, culinary, and leadership team, both during shift as well as throughout the week.

àEnsures that cost of service is at a level, which is beneficial to Semiahmoo Resort.

àResponsible for monthly beverage inventory, weekly ordering of beverages, beverage supplies and food supplies.

àAt the end of the work shift, ensure all accounting procedures are properly completed according to policy and procedures.

àResponsible for preparing all department payroll information and submitting in a timely manner.

àMaintains an inventory of supplies and products to include ordering when necessary.

àEngage in “table touches” with guests.

àHandles guest requests or complaints, following up as needed. Communicate all guests complaints/feedback to F&B Manager in a timely manner.

àAssist the F&B Manager in disciplinary actions in accordance with the HR Policies and Procedures. Inform F&B Manager of all HR related matters.

àCompletes all incident/accident reports in a timely manner in the absence of the F&B Manager.

àEnsures compliance with all state, federal, and property guidelines pertaining to cleanliness and sanitizing standards.

àMust be willing and able to work non-traditional schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

àWork week may routinely exceed 40 hours/week.

àManage guest reservations and events as outlined by FB Director or Manager.

àEnsures full understanding of and adherence to applicable policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.

àOther duties as assigned.


àHigh school diploma or GED required.

àMust be at least 21 years of age.

àSome college background preferred.

àMinimum three (3) years food and beverage experience in a hotel or restaurant required, with a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, demonstrating a proven track record in leadership and management/supervisory skills.

àExcellent interpersonal, customer service, communications, employee team building and problem solving abilities are required.

àMust be able to analyze financial information and arrive at correct conclusions.

àKnowledge of computer functions and customer service required.

àKnowledge of all phases of beverage administration, cost control, and familiarity with all beverage and food service.

àThorough knowledge of menu prices and composition of food and beverage menu items, daily specials and proper placing procedures.

àDisplays positive acceptance of demanding scheduling needs.

àWorks cooperatively and fosters teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.

àMust be willing and able to adhere to Appearance Standards of Semiahmoo Resort.

àMust be willing and able to work non-traditional schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

àWork week may routinely exceed 40 hours/week.

àMust possess current food handlers’ permit on or before first day of employment and maintain throughout employment.

àMust be able to obtain Class 12 or 13 liquor permit within 30 days of employment and maintain same throughout employment.

àMust be able to successfully pass MAST class within 30 days of employment.

àMust be willing to sign confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements.

àMust be able to successfully pass pre-employment background check.


àMust be able to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs.

àRespond to visual and aural cues.

àMust be able to convey information clearly to others.

àMust be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

àMust be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and make quick decisions simultaneously as required.

àMust have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment, including but not limited to copiers, faxes, computers, etc., as well as cash registers and other computer related work.

àMust be able to perform all physical requirements of the job.

àMust be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, bright lights, high temperatures, and noise.

àMust be able to spend extended periods of time walking, standing, bending, and/or sitting.

àMust be able to tolerate a confined work area.

NOTE: Semiahmoo functions 7 days a week. All Interns/associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an associate from their accustomed shift as business demands. I have full availability. In addition, I understand that business determines the amount of hours I work, and that some weeks I may be scheduled to work less than 40 hours and other weeks I may be scheduled to work more than 40 hours per week.
