Database Administrator

Vista Defense Technologies, (VDT) is seeking a Database Administrator who will provide Database Support and Services that include database administration, operations, maintenance, and optimization support for the WBAMC Database environment.

• The candidate will administer, operate, maintain, and optimize all databases in the WBAMC Database Environment on a 24x7x365 basis.
• Database Administrator will publish scheduled maintenance information and impact statements.
• Experience transitioning to a future private cloud enterprise computing solution for database hosting is preferred.
• The candidate will provide services for the evaluation, planning, requirements analysis, design, optimization, testing, implementation, and sustainment of new and existing mission databases.
• Perform Backup and Recovery, Performance Tuning, Clustering, and Security hardening of, but not limited to, MS SQL databases. 
• DBA will assist with new WBAMC projects affecting network operations in accordance with (IAW) current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
• Will develop and operate backup and recovery strategies per the mission's applications requirements and will verify that storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are 100% fully tested and functioning correctly.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen. 
• Must be able to pass a government background check. 
• Must have the Security+ certification along with an environment certification such as Server+ or MCSA SQL 2016 Database Administration. 
• Must have at least one year of experience.
