Reporting directly to the CEO, the SVP, General Manager, International, will have oversight responsibility for EMEA and Asia Pacific, with future potential oversight for all of International. As the senior leader for International, they will have accountability for annual financial performance and will be responsible for building a high performing organization, and providing the strategic vision for the International business.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Program Management and Strategic Vision

  • Develop short and long-term strategic plans for the International business that consider both organic growth and partnership/acquisition driven growth.

  • Provide oversight and management of multiple initiatives. Ensure that work is completed efficiently in identifying issues, adjusting priorities, establishing management routines, tracking progress, and leveraging resources.

  • Develop near-and long-term action plans for the region that will result in business performance improvements.

Finance Management

  • Meet or exceed year over year revenue objectives.

  • Understand and analyze financial data (e.g. balance sheet, P&L, volume trends, return on investment, plan vs. actuals, volume and rate variance, etc.) and the relationships between the various data points.

  • Prepare annual budget, budget controls, and budget variances for the efficient management of the business.

Sales and Operations

  • Build and manage a complex network of dealers and direct sales representatives to maximize sales performance across the region

  • Cultivate individual and organizational relationships with EMEA/APAC Key Opinion Leaders in our targeted disease states

  • Lead a complex multi-national organization to achieve top and bottom-line business objectives and drive profitable growth.

  • Lead product development/integration efforts in conjunction with the US product development teams to build products that reflect the needs of the International market (s).

People Leadership

  • Build a high performing, empowered leadership team.

  • Set business and performance objectives for the team; establish a culture that promotes performance excellence.

  • Invest in people and leadership development to build organization capabilities for the future.

  • Motivate teams to produce quality results while fostering a positive work environment.

The Person

The successful candidate will have experience at a global company, but they must also be entrepreneurial with an in-depth understanding of the International business and regulatory environment including Europe and Asia Pacific. They must be able to excel within a results-oriented organization where revenue growth and profitability are emphasized. This is a customer facing role, and candidates should be adept at learning the business and representing AngioDynamics internally and externally. Strong communication skills and executive presence are prerequisites, as are product knowledge and a high degree of technical competency.

All candidates should have a broad base of leadership experience working within a global medical device manufacturer. In addition, candidates should have demonstrated solid upward career progression on the commercial side of their past business(es). Candidates must be able to craft the strategic vision for international, assess and recommend the markets where we want to compete, and identify and create the balance between centralization and decentralization. It is paramount the GM be capable of driving change management initiatives, influencing broad organizations, and introducing new strategies and tactics through effective and collegial means.

AngioDynamics is seeking a proven, pragmatic business leader who is driven to increase International market share. They must be a hands-on change agent capable of managing the requirements of the position, marshalling indirect resource support, and remaining mindful of existing cultures and competencies of newly acquired businesses. Leading by example, collaborating, facilitating continuous improvement, and openly communicating across all levels of the organization, including the Global Business Unit Leaders will be critical. In addition, the successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience with managing through organizational challenges and unifying teams that exist across multiple geographies

  • 15+ years of progressively increasing responsibilities in global organizations.

  • Proven multi-channel sales management experience.

  • P&L responsibility with thorough knowledge of accounting and financial management.

  • Demonstrated strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills including a solid understanding of relevant sales and marketing campaigns.

  • Multi-national company experience with specific success working for US or European based companies.

  • Proven experience managing government relations.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of the company.

  • Clear capabilities in managing functional matrix organizations that have strong ties to functional headquarter groups.

  • Prior acquisition experience.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor'slevel degree required. Masters’ degree is preferred.

  • 15+years of demonstrated international commercial leadership experience in global medical device organizations.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Must be able to travel extensively internationally to the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific

  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluently and proficiently in the English language. The ability to speak additional languages is preferred.

  • Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office suite

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
