Summary/Objective
The Wholesale Planner will be responsible for managing planning activities for Alex and Ani Wholesale accounts. Building Sales Plans by account, managing product forecasts and analyzing business trends to ensure financial goals are achieved. The goal of the Planning function is to drive the business through strategic seasonal merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, management of OTB and insightful analysis and strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Support major Key Account sales efforts with sales analysis, assortment review and Open to Buy management to optimize sales and margin goals
• Forecasting seasonal and core products and update regularly to adjust for changes in demand and sales metrics, ensure that sales forecasts are consistent with events, strategies, and business issues
• Work closely with Sales/Finance and upper management to produce annual sales goals and budgets
• Analyze actual product performance and recommend next actions surrounding replenishment, markdowns and lifecycle
• Reforecast business in season based on current performance, present revised projections and recommendations to cross functional partners and leadership
• Ensure through ongoing update of Demand and Inventory plans that all forecasting is in line with company goals and initiatives by maximizing sales and minimizing inventory exposure
• Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales to create assortment plans and demand plans by season for each assigned account, ensuring all key products are placed
• Create, maintain all wholesale reporting including but not limited to: Style Selling, Sales to Stock, Delivery Sell Thru and Weekly Top-line and Partner performance reports
• Develop replenishment strategies to ensure proper inventory flow
• Compiles hindsight reporting by account for use in future planning and replenishment forecasting
• Manage OTB to profitable plan and grow the wholesale business. Review OTB on regular basis for accuracy and validity
• Create ideas to drive sales while maintaining profitability and minimizing risks
• Other duties as needed.
Travel
• This position requires limited travel; 0-25%
Qualifications and Requirements
• 2+ years in Wholesale or Retail Planning
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Excellent retail math skills
• Demonstrated experience in retail data analysis and OTB management
• Expert knowledge and capabilities in Excel, Intermediate experience with remaining office software
• Demonstrated Financial and Business Acumen, including the impacts of proper forecasting and related decisions
• Problem Solving and Decision duality: Able to use rigorous logic and model methods to solve problems with effective solutions
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
